Salary increases in the country by 20.81 dollars in 2021

According to the National Institute of Statistics ( INE ), the highest annual salary in the US in 2021 was 18,489.7 dollars. This figure only increases by 0.1% to 20.81 dollars from 2020. Get to know what is considered a high-paying salary?

The most common salary is 5,906 dollars less than the 2021 average salary.

The average annual gross salary per worker rose by 1.6% to 24,395.9 dollars in 2021. This is the highest increase since 2008. To calculate the median salary, the INE divides those with a higher and those with a lower salary. This was 20,351 dollars in 2021.

The survey found that almost half of workers (18.2%), earned less than the minimum wage (SMI) in 2021, which was 12,600 dollars per year. 46.4%, however, received salaries between 12,600 to 25,200 dollars. This means that almost all three wage earners earned less than 25,200 dollars per year in 2021, which is less than twice the SMI.

In 2021, the average gross annual male salary was 26,934.38 dollars. This is 0.7% more than 2020 and the women’s average income rose 3.2% to 21,682 dollars. The average annual salary of women is 80.5% lower than that of men, despite this. This salary gap is less if you consider similar jobs.

The average gross salary for men was 16.63 dollars in 2021, 0.7% less than 2020, while the average gross salary for women was 14.92 dollars, up 3.9%. The hourly earnings of temporary workers (12.67 dollars) were lower than the average hourly earnings for all workers. It was 18.6% lower for women than it was for men, and 21.3% higher for men. The hourly wages for temporary contracts were 3.5% higher in women than it was for men.

The average annual salary for full-time workers was 28412.1 dollars, 1.2% more than 2020, and that of part-time workers rose 2.2% to 11,395, 49 dollars.

The INE considers hourly earnings more important than regular wages because full-time workers work more hours than part-timers. 16.58 dollars was the hourly wage for full-time workers in 2021, 2.2% more than 2020, and 11.71 dollars per hour for part-time workers, an increase of 0.5 percent.

When hourly earnings are considered, the difference in salaries between men and women decreases. The average annual wage for women was 80.5%, but if you consider the hourly wage, it reaches 89.7%.

Compared to 2020, the hourly full-time earnings of women rose by 4.6% to USD 1406, while men saw a 0.7% increase to USD 16.98. Part-time earnings increased by 0.2% for men and 0.9% for women.

Hospitality is the most underpaid sector

In 2021, the highest annual remuneration was the supply of electricity, gas steam, and air conditioning. This was nearly double the national average. It is followed by insurance and financial activities (44.302.7 dollars), information communications (33.4611 dollars per annum), extractive industries (33.4159 dollars), and public administration (31,090 dollars).

The lowest salaries were earned by employees in accommodation (14,561 dollar), other services (17.066 dollars), and administrative activities and additional services (17.107 dollars).

The most notable increases in average salary in 2021 were seen in realty activities (+9.8%), education (+9.4%), and information and communication (+ 4.6%), while the greatest decreases were artistic activity (-2.3%), and financial activities (-1.6%).
